Descripción de la oferta: The Accounts Payable and Payroll Accountant is responsible for efficiently managing the company’s accounts payable functions and processing payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with Federal and local labor laws and regulations. This position ensures timely vendor payments and accurate payroll processing, contributing to the smooth financial operations of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies. Schedule payments to vendors according to agreed terms and manage payment transactions efficiently. Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, purchase orders, and payment documentation. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures by ensuring all AP transactions are accurately recorded. Ensure compliance with Puerto Rico's tax laws, including processing Withholding Statements for service providers (Model 480.6A & 480.6B). Prepare and issue annual Form 480.6SP for payments to vendors. Payroll: Process payroll for employees in compliance with federal and local labor laws, including wage, overtime, benefits, and tax deductions. Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll records, including changes in employee wages, tax status, and benefit deductions. Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of social security, unemployment insurance (FUTA/SUTA), and Puerto Rico state payroll taxes. Administer and reconcile payroll-related transactions, including vacation leave, sick leave, and other leave entitlements as per Puerto Rican labor regulations Resolve any payroll-related issues. Manage year-end payroll processing, including the preparation of Forms W-2, 480.6A, 480.6B, and other required tax filings. Coordinate with the Human Resources department on employee benefits, bonuses, and deductions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll, with specific experience in Puerto Rico payroll laws and tax filings. Familiarity with Puerto Rico income tax requirements , including IVU (Impuesto sobre Ventas y Uso). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos). Expertise in Microsoft Office Programs Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills for external and internal clients. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and maintain high standards of integrity. Bilingual Communication: Fluency in both Spanish and English is preferred for effective communication with vendors, government agencies, and internal staff.
