Participant Marangelis Hernandez Garcia stopped by our AMSI office in Gurabo in the month of March 2019 requesting a study opportunity to be able to move her family forward as she is a single mother of two. In the past, according to the participant, she tried to study and could not finish because of some difficult situations in her life that did not allow her to continue. During that month she was evaluated by the Job Career Coach, and was approved for an ITA account at the National College of Business and Technology Company in Caguas to study for an Associate Degree in Nursing. The participant had some mishaps along the way, however, after moves and pandemic, and a great effort on her part, the participant persevered until she was finally able to parade in her cap and gown on her graduation day. Ms. Hernandez is very excited that she has accomplished one of her goals and has now seen an opening of occupational opportunities which she is taking into consideration.
