Participant Windy E. Morales Mangual, a resident of the town of Gurabo, visited our AMSI office in Gurabo seeking guidance on the training we were offering. The participant expressed her interest in being able to retrain after many years without working and wishing to give her 4 children a better future as a single mother. After being evaluated by her Job Career Coach, she began to take the Entrepreneurial Initiatives in Cosmetology workshop to gain in-demand skills. The participant reported that when she was young and single, she studied cosmetology, but was unable to complete her studies and recognizing that cosmetology is her passion, she decided to study the 150-hour Entrepreneurial Initiatives course through the College of Technology offered by AMSI. At the end of the workshop the participant verbalized that she wished to be given the opportunity to study a Technical Course in Cosmetology in order to create her own business in what she loves so much, which is the field of beauty. Through AMSI she was given the opportunity to participate in an Individual Training Account and was appointed on August 30, 2021. The participant has been recognized as a success story for the NUC Educational Institution and has represented the institution in different social activities, television and other events. Windy with her own effort continues to prepare herself in the advanced area of Cosmetology with the purpose of becoming a Master in this department and help people who love beauty as much or more as she does. And in addition to be able to work independently as a cosmetologist.
